Samuel "Boxi" Svahn, a player for
Team Liquid, trolled the organizers of The International 2024 after his team's victory, hinting that the championship doesn't live up to a tier-1 Dota 2 tournament.
This moment occurred during the post-match interview on Twitch.
"We finally won a LAN, a big LAN. This is my first win at such a big tournament. A tier-1 tournament, as Liquipedia says"
His joke brought the crowd to applause and even made the interviewer laugh. With this, the esports player may have hinted that TI13 doesn’t quite resemble a tier-1 tournament. Many players have pointed out that the prize pool this year is extremely small, and there have been complaints about the organization of the Dota 2 World Championship.
Nevertheless, the player admitted that he was extremely happy to finally lift the Aegis and also introduced his loved ones who have supported him throughout this time.
As a reminder, Anton "Dyrachyo" Shkredov was earlier mistakenly named a player for
Tundra Esports at TI13, which left the player himself stunned.
