William “Blitz” Lee reported that Samuel “Boxi” Svan requested time off because he wanted to celebrate his birthday with his loved ones.
The
Team Liquid coach made this statement in a coment to OFFSTAGE.
“A while back, Boxi asked for some time off and wanted to do something for his birthday and his girlfriend’s birthday. I think this is his first birthday in a long time that he’ll be able to celebrate at home, so it was important to give him this break.”
Acording to William “Blitz” Lee, the esports player also wants to spend time with his girlfriend on her birthday. The team respected the player’s request, as he hasn’t been home for this important holiday in a long time.
Team Liquid’s coach also stated that the team’s performance at the Premier Series was due to the fact that the roster viewed the tournament as preparation for upcoming events.
“The result at the Premier Series is mainly explained by the fact that we treated the tournament as practice matches: everyone spent about two weeks without Dota, and then, after just one day of practice, went into the tournament. I don’t want to take anything away from the teams we lost to—they were more motivated and simply stronger.”
As a reminder,
Team Liquid previously set a unique Dota 2 pro-scene record by spending over eight hours in official matches in a single day.
