Exactly 10 years ago, on August 8, 2015, Said “SumaiL” Sumail Hassan set a Dota 2 record that no one has been able to beat to this day, becoming the youngest champion of The International.
At the time, the pro scene legend played for
Evil Geniuses, who went on to win TI5. At the time of setting the record, he was 16 years and 176 days old, making him the youngest world champion in the history of the game. The young talent became famous for his aggressive and spectacular playing style, which attracted the attention of viewers, and his performances on
Storm Spirit were particularly impressive.
It is worth noting that at the age of 16, he also managed to earn a huge amount of prize money, as
Evil Geniuses received over $6.6 million for their victory at The International 2015.
It should be recalled that Valve never lifted the ban on SumaiL, despite his status as a pro player.
