Aleksei "Solo" Tumanov, the captain of
9 Pandas, noted that this is not his final year as a professional player in Dota 2, although he indicated that he might do so in the following season.
One of the players mentioned this in an interview at the YouTube channel BetBoom Esports.
"I can say without any hesitation that my Dota career is at the end but not this year. But that time is coming and I would like to play this season. For many years now, I am always asking myself why I am still playing or why do I not quit and do something else. Every year, I find the guts and the motivation to chase that dream"
Moreover, he pointed out that he would want to retire while on top and with a strong team but was unable to do so on the last season with the last team he had.
"The result are rather distressed and sounding through me as every shot I’m trying to do in a competition is going to be last straight away given competition this year is very bad. Not real achievements, the main ones are missed, we lost the finals of the qualifiers for The International. I can’t speak about being content with the team and the roster. I want to play in a good team with a strong roster and eventually conclude my professional career on a positively competitive respectable note"
He went on to say that team disappointed him and he is sorry that the team could not make it to the International 2024. Perhaps, change of place will help Solo, if he makes it farther away from TI14, he will be announcing retirement in the next season.
As a background, Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov is hereby apologizing for his earlier actionable statement that Solo would be joining
Virtus.pro for which he had provided corroborative evidence.
