Maelstorm admitted that he fabricated the inside information about Solo in Virtus.pro, explaining the consequences

Vladimir ‘Maelstorm’ Kuzminov, a Dota 2 commentator, has admitted that he created the inside information about Alexey ‘Solo’ Berezin joining Virtus.pro but this led to the possibility of actual negotiations.

Maelstorm published it in his Telegram channel.

“So remember when I said I had some inside information on Solo? Yeah, none of it was true. Just came across a comment somewhere and decided to make an article out of it. It didn’t seem like anything special. However, within several hours this rumor became the most discussed subject all over”

However, his joke affected the Dota community greatly because many fans truly supported such an idea and were ready for Solo in new Virtus.pro roster. The presenter supposes that the reaction among people made bosses think seriously about signing an eSportsman.

“Most comments looked like ‘Yeah, let's go, each other is all we have left,’ etc., therefore as they say VP actually did take Solo in now another round of rumors started which I think cannot appear from nowhere; even messages from enlightened people like “Well you invented him, it’s all rubbish”, followed by “Hey wait a minute may be there is something in it” after a while”

According to his clues given earlier those rumors regarding Solo going to join new lineup turned out not just being groundless ones. Still there’s no official confirmation though.

Worth noting is that earlier Solo hinted surprisingly at joining Virtus.pro before that.
