Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev admitted that he played poker for money and lost $100,000, which led him to quit gambling.

He revealed this in an interview with Alexander "Nix" Levin at The International 2024.

"I lost a lot of money somewhere. Plus, I used to play poker. I’ve now banned myself from playing. I lost about $100,000. It’s a life lesson. It didn’t break me; I can always stop"

He emphasized that he doesn't have a gambling addiction but decided to stop to avoid further losses. It's worth noting that $100,000 is an enormous sum, even exceeding the prize pool of tier-2 and some tier-1 Dota 2 tournaments. However, RAMZES666 clarified that despite the significant loss, he still has a substantial amount of money left.

Previously, RAMZES666 stated that the winners of TI13 would receive less than a million in prize money, along with all other participants in the Dota 2 championship.
