Quinn "Quinn" Callahan, the midlaner for
Gaimin Gladiators, found himself in a peculiar situation in a match against Ilya "Kiritych" Ulyanov, the carry for
Virtus.pro. Initially, Quinn was declared the winner, but later the decision was reversed, giving the victory to his opponent.
The corresponding moment was captured in the official broadcast of the 1x1 BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 tournament on Twitch.
As seen in the screenshot, Quinn was initially announced as the winner, leading in most of the statistical categories compared to his opponent. However, a nuance emerged later. Kiritych killed more creeps than Quinn. Quinn eliminated 90 creeps, while Kiritych eliminated 92, ultimately determining the outcome of the match.
Nevertheless, Kiritych's joy was short-lived, as he was eliminated in the next match, losing to William "Blitz" Lee from
Team Liquid.
Quinn has not yet commented on the organizers' decision or whether he considers the outcome of the match fair. It is worth noting that he was considered one of the favorites in the midlaner tournament.
Recall that earlier Quinn was noted for extremely toxic behavior, openly mocking opponents from
Virtus.pro right from the Gaimin Gladiators booth.
