Quinn "Quinn" Callahan, the midlaner of
Gaimin Gladiators, unexpectedly commented on Valve's decision to ban smurf accounts of professional players. At the same time, he sarcastically remarked about the number of smurfs owned by Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko, the carry of
BetBoom Team.
The esports player posted the corresponding statement on his Twitter.
"The wave of smurf bans is such a move; I haven't genuinely agreed with any decision for a long time. See you later, 87 Nightfall accounts"
The player expressed irony regarding the actions of Dota 2 developers. Apparently, he hinted at selectivity in handing out bans. He also decided to make fun of the number of additional accounts owned by Nightfall. Although suspicions about his use of smurfs existed, they were never proven.
Why Quinn chose Nightfall as the target for his mockery is unknown, but many users reacted negatively to such a statement. Some even accused Quinn of being toxic.
Recall that Ilya "Yatoro" Volyshenyuk, the carry for
Team Spirit, also spoke negatively about Valve's decision, accusing them of selectively banning professional players.
