Gaimin Gladiators found themselves in the lower bracket of The International 2023 playoffs due to lagging behind other teams in terms of the meta. GG still can't get away from the changes introduced by Valve before the Riyadh Masters 2023.
Quinn Kallahan, the midlaner of Gaimin Gladiators, made such a statement during an interview at the main Dota 2 tournament of the year, which was published on Reddit.
"I think, to be honest, we just fell behind in some things, and other people just got ahead of us, so we're just playing catch-up. And when you're playing catch-up, rather than being in a good position and tweaking things, the difference in perspectives is just huge. And I think in the last two tournaments, we were in the position of the laggers and were trying to catch up with people, rather than being up there with the leaders and maintaining that position"
It is unknown whether
Gaimin Gladiators will be able to effectively use the break before the start of the TI12 playoffs to get in shape and catch up with their competitors in terms of gameplay.
