Quinn Speaks Out on Penalties for 322

Quinn Callahan believes that penalties for 322 should be stricter, just like for any other form of cheating.

The player shared this opinion on YouTube.

“At The Lima Major, I played against Knights, who were also throwing games. We knew this when we played against them. We said at the time, ‘What are they doing? What kind of nonsense is this? What’s even going on?” The five of them rushed our Tier 1 towers in the strangest way possible.

All five heroes at level four are rushing mid or teleporting there. Obviously, we were up by 10,000 at the 10-minute mark, and they typed GG. Yeah, right, not suspicious at all. I believe that not only in Dota, but in society in general, there should be harsher penalties for this kind of behavior.”

The esports player’s reflections were prompted by memories of a match at The Lima Major, where opponents from Knights clearly lost the game on purpose. The esports player believes that this phenomenon severely harms the development of esports, but to ensure that players caught in 322 cannot escape accountability, serious penalties must be introduced, ranging up to long prison sentences or very high fines.

“After all, this completely destroys the integrity of the sport. And all this ‘white-collar’ crime in general... They’ll give you a slap on the wrist, but if you have money, you’ll walk away scot-free. I think the only way to stop this is with truly severe penalties for those caught doing this, like long prison sentences or outrageously high fines. If ‘it’s worth it’ compared to the looming penalties, they’ll keep doing it.”

As a reminder, Quinn Callahan previously named the best midlaner in Dota 2 history.
