The players did not comment on their refusal, but the championship commentators explained that the teams did not want to play against Team Spirit. The outcome of the battle was decided by a coin toss. As a result, Gaimin Gladiators will play against Xtreme Gaming, while Team Falcons will face Team Spirit in the playoffs.

Following the 1v1 battle against LGD Gaming's mid laner Gao "Setsu" Zhengxun, Team Liquid participant Michal "Nisha" Jankowski declined. Setsu did not refuse to play, which led to the opponent being awarded a technical defeat. As a result of the distribution, LGD Gaming will play against BetBoom Team, while Team Liquid will have to face Azure Ray.
