Dota 2 fans have noticed that professional players have started using smurf accounts again, despite it being prohibited, and are demanding punishment for the offenders.
This appeal to Valve was posted on Reddit.
"Pro players are once again using their smurf accounts; didn’t Valve warn about this?
I was just watching Gorc's stream, and Micke is playing on a smurf. It’s really disgusting, and more pros are starting to do the same.
It’s not just pros, of course—there’s an increase in smurfing overall. The last ban wave was effective, but it’s been some time, and it seems some smurfs think Valve is too busy with Deadlock to issue a new ban wave.
If I remember correctly, Valve warned pros to use only one account after the last smurf ban wave, didn’t they?”
According to the player, he noticed that at least Mike "miCKe" Vu, the carry for
Team Liquid, were playing on smurfs during their streams. The user notes that it’s not just them but also an increasing number of non-pro players who are violating Valve’s ban. Commenters support the appeal to Valve and believe that the rules should apply to everyone and that Valve should conduct a new ban wave.
