Players believe that Valve is not doing enough to promote The International 2024, despite the fact that the event is only a short time away.
The corresponding post was published on Reddit.
“We're 20 days away from TI and there's no hype at all.
There's no advertising, no TI related events, and no compilation that would normally generate excitement and community engagement.
Is Valve really going to keep the $1.6 million dollar prize pool? Are they just not interested in creating the same excitement and greatness around TI as they have in the past? They won't even be involved in organizing the event this year.”
In the comments on the post, most users accuse the developers of indifference and also agree that they have no serious expectations from The International 2024 this year.

The International 2024 will take place from September 4 to 15 in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. The event will feature 16 teams, 6 of which received direct invitations and the rest selected through regional qualifications. Tournaments of the series have historically been considered the most prestigious in professional Dota 2. Last year, the prize pool totaled 3,380,455 US dollars.
It's worth noting that in the comments under the post, some users point out that Valve is refusing to waste resources on organizing The International so that they can focus more on Dota 2 development.
“Valve is simply scaling back the scope of Dota. This includes focusing on gameplay updates rather than wasting tons of time and effort organizing events. First the majors, now TI. As sad as it is to see TI go, please remember that we get a lot in return.”
Recall that earlier a similar opinion about the upcoming TI13 was expressed by famous streamer Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov.
