Korb3n Weighs In on Save’s Move to Mid

Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov believes that Vitaly “Save-” Melnik still needs time to play confidently in the mid lane.

The Team Spirit manager shared this opinion on Twitch.

“To really make an impact in mid, he needs… First of all, I don’t recall anyone from the support role successfully switching to the core role in the past. And second, it takes time. He’ll probably need to play there for a year. I don’t really see any other options. Maybe he’ll make it work—I’m no fortune-teller, after all. We’ll see.

I don’t understand what ‘anything goes’ has to do with this. Gpk went on leave until January. The guy just wanted to play mid for a long time—he’s playing mid, that’s all. There’s no ‘anything goes’ here. Gpk will come back and go play in the ‘fourth lane.’”

Nevertheless, Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov emphasized that he’s not currently confident in the success of Vitaly “Save-” Melnik’s move to mid, since he can’t recall a successful example of such a position change in the history of the pro scene. According to a statement from Team Spirit’s manager, Vitaly “Save-” Melnik may switch back to the support role when Gpk returns from vacation.

As a reminder, Arman “Malady” Orazbaev previously criticized Vitaly “Save-” Melnik for changing positions.
