Patch 7.40 added 6 new unique items to Dota 2: what they give to heroes

In patch 7.40, Valve added 6 new neutral items to Dota 2, each with unique properties, and one of them even allows the hero to turn into an insect and radically change armor values.

New neutral items in patch 7.40:

Ash Legion Shield

Has an active effect with a 40 second cooldown. When activated, it reduces the owner’s movement speed by 12 units, but in return applies a physical shield that absorbs 14 damage to all allied controlled units within an 800 radius. The effect lasts 6 seconds. Tier 1 neutral item.

Weighted Dice

A passive effect that influences the calculation of the owner’s base damage and gold gained from last hitting creeps. During calculation, two “rolls” are made and the better result is chosen. Tier 1 neutral artifact.

Flayer's Bota

Has an active ability with a 65 second cooldown. For 6 seconds, it increases the owner’s base damage by 15% and attack speed by 30. If an enemy hero dies near the owner, the ability cooldown is fully reset. Tier 4 artifact.

Idol of Scree'Auk

Activated once every 30 seconds. For 5 seconds, it increases damage resistance by 50%, allows the hero to move through units, and grants an additional 25% evasion. Tier 4 neutral item.

Metamorphic Mandible

After activation, the hero temporarily transforms into an insect: the model becomes smaller, armor is reduced by 45%, but magic resistance is increased by 35%, and movement speed by 15%. The effect lasts 4 seconds, cooldown is 30 seconds. Tier 4 artifact.

Riftshadow Prism

When used, the owner sacrifices 10% of their current health to create an illusion with full HP. The illusion lasts 20 seconds, deals 50% damage and takes 240% increased damage. Cooldown is 30 seconds. Tier 5 neutral item.
