Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov, streamer and former esports player, stated that Valve has yet to address the issue of smurfing, which ruins the experience, especially for low-MMR players.
He shared this during a Twitch broadcast.
"I think smurfing, especially at lower ranks - it doesn't matter if it's smurfing at your own rank, but at lower ranks - it's the scourge of the system. It ruins the experience for people. Every time you have a booster in your game, it's not particularly fun, especially for those playing against the booster. And for their teammates too. The guy runs around soloing everything. What's the point?"
NS emphasized that this is a real problem and should be punished. However, after the global wave of bans on smurf accounts, punishments have become almost nonexistent. The streamer noted that there should be consequences, but Valve seems to ignore the issue.
As a reminder, NS previously suggested an alternative to patches for Dota 2, which players would greatly appreciate.
