Yaroslav ‘NS’ Kuznetsov believes that nothing will change in the organisation of The International this year, as PGL is a permanent contractor of Valve, and the developers themselves had never been responsible for the tournament holding.
The streamer shared the relevant opinion during a Twitch broadcast.
‘All Ints have always been held by other people aside from Valve; it has always had a different contractor. PGL has hosted all previous editions of The International. So why do you think that this year will be different? Everything stayed as it used to be. I find it pointless to say anything about or discuss it at length.
You see, maybe people think Gaben is dragging wire, someone from staff is setting lights on stage and at night programmers are building booths, while there’s going out of somebody to sell tickets. She didn't do anything.’
According to Austin ‘Capitalist’ Walsh, an English-language caster, who broke the news about the new tournament organizer, PGL has assumed full control over The International since this year. Additionally, he suggests that such changes would ultimately reduce prestigiousness of the championship.
The International 2024 will take place between September 4th and September 15th. In total there will be sixteen teams participating in the event with a prize pool worth $1.6 million dollars.
