NS announced a serious problem with Dota 2 matchmaking due to the rating system

Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov stated that due to the MMR spread in Dota 2, it is quite difficult to play with friends, as the matchmaking system does not match them up for a joint game.

The streamer made this statement on Twitch.

"The problem with the current party rating is the MMR spread. We want to play, but how? They simply won't let us play. Even though the difference in party ratings can be less than 1.5k, which is nothing."

The streamer believes that Dota 2 is the only modern online game where it is impossible to play with friends. The streamer cites the lack of rating resets as the main reason for this phenomenon, which causes the rating to be too stretched out. If players have a rating difference of about 2,000 MMR, they will never meet in ranked matches.

"Nowadays, all online games are cooperative, everyone plays with friends. Dota is the last place where you can't play in a party. This is partly due to the eternal rating, which has never been reset. It has stretched out like an endless sausage. If you and your friends have a 2k difference, you won't be able to play together. You're simply separated."

Earlier, Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov called on Valve developers to add a new mechanic to Dota 2 in the form of a caravan that would move around the map.
