Alexander “Nix” Levin believes that the developers at Valve have taken a lot from Dota 2 when developing their new game, Deadlock.
The content maker shared his respective opinion in a private Twitch broadcast.
“This game has towers and a throne. Guys, that's 85% of Dota in this game. I'll tell you this. Here I've played 20-something games, it was Icefrog who made his Dota. He just made it in third person.”
The streamer considers the main difference, which is the presence of shooting, to be only one of the elements of Deadlock, but he sees a lot of similarities in the rest of the mechanics, and also believes that the shooter element was added solely because of the popularity of the genre. Nevertheless, Alexander “Nix” Levin believes that a good Dota 2 player will be able to easily figure out Deadlock as well, since the game has heroes that don't necessarily need to be good at shooting.
“There's shooting, there's an element of shooting. Just in general shooters are popular these days. But there's 85% of dota here. Macro, micro, everything in general. If you're good at dota, you'll be good at this game. Even if you shoot badly, you can play on heroes that are shooting independent.”
As a reminder, Alexander “Nix” Levin previously called on Valve to hold the first major Deadlock tournament.
