Alexander “Nix” Levin believes that despite the large amount of negativity directed at Deadlock, Valve's new game, it will immediately become very popular if the developers announce a major tournament similar to The International series.
The streamer shared his opinion on Twitch.
“Deadlock is poor thing. So much negativity has been poured on it. People really don't understand how the world works. Deadlock haters, you don't understand one thing: if in a second they announce a $10 million Deadlock tournament, the game will become hyper-popular.”
According to Alexander “Nix” Levin, the success of modern online games is determined by the existence of a corresponding esports discipline. The streamer cited Fortnite as an example. Although this game is moving away from esports, a lot of money was initially invested in this direction, which helped to build an audience.
“No one will play a game that has no future in esports. Esports drives any game. The same Fortnite, which moved away from esports, initially poured an unreal amount of money into it. And it gained its audience. And now it's collaborating with all these rappers, Jordans, and so on. Do you understand?”
As a reminder, Valve previously released a major update for Deadlock, which significantly affected the game's gameplay.
