Alexander “Nix” Levin admitted that in order to play Dota 2 for the first time, he had to buy an account from commentator Aren “VeRsuta” Zurabyan.

The streamer talked about this during his Twitch broadcast.

“I actually bought my account from VeRsuta. No joke, 500 — I remember, we all chipped in with the guys from school. VeRsuta was selling accounts. There were two main sellers back then — Dubas and VeRsuta. And we bought from VeRsuta. But people were saying that Dubas was ****, so VeRsuta had the better reputation. He was already popular because of the ‘Dog’s Son’ thing, bro. He was like, tier-1 media personality at the time. I don’t remember what grade I was in — maybe 8th or 9th. But yeah, I bought my Dota 2 account from VeRsuta”

According to Nix, he was still in school back then, and he and his classmates had to pool their money together to buy an account from the well-known esports commentator.

Based on his statement, the account cost him around $15, considering the exchange rate at the time. Notably, this was a fairly big amount back then — enough to buy a full AAA game.

It’s still unknown how Valve might react to such a confession from a famous streamer, as buying or transferring a Dota 2 account is strictly prohibited by the game’s rules.

Earlier, Valve released an unusual update for Dota 2.
