The popularity of Dota 2 has been declining since even after TI9, yet it still has numerous fans in Eastern Europe due to Team Spirit's victory at The International 2021.
Streamer Alexander "Nix" Levin made this statement during a Twitch stream.
"You watched the fifth, the sixth was even cooler, the seventh was even cooler, the eighth was even cooler, the ninth was even cooler, and then poof, the drop just happened until 2021. And as it may sound, 'Dota' died after the ninth 'TI.' It's alive in the CIS because Team Spirit won the tenth — that's very important"
He believes that The International 2020 was the last truly impressive Dota 2 tournament, and after that, the quality bar began to decline.
Earlier, Nix named Voravit "Q" Mechai, the mid laner for
Talon Esports, as one of the best players at TI12, capable of single-handedly carrying the entire match.
