Nix, also known as Alexander “Nix” Levin, has said that the studio has reached a plateau since Icefrog left Dota 2, because they are afraid of making drastic changes to the game.

This was mentioned by Nix in his stream on Twitch.

“I don’t like the way Valve is going. They're actively moving towards “we won’t change anything, let’s leave Dota as it is.” If there are any changes at all then it will be +2/-2. And we will just do +2/-2 forever”

According to him, Valve has become too conservative about the game and he doesn't approve of their attitude towards changes anymore; however this became particularly noticeable once Icefrog supposedly left Valve.

“They are scared to **** something up after IceFrog left; they took someone who knows zero things about it. And he stands there doing +2/-2 playing safe. At least this seems so. I hope not though. He never hesitated taking risks in order to move ahead. He always used to consult with professionals from eSports”

Before that he argued that earlier there had been a relationship between community members and the creators of Dota 2 which were not afraid to take risks but now Nyx says gameplay can suffer because recent patches didn’t introduce significant changes.

Moreover, Nix previously touched on conflicts between Dota 2's creator and Valve over ice frog leaving the company even though there isn't any official information about it yet.
