Alexander "Nix" Levin shared rumors about a conflict allegedly occurring between one of the creators of Dota 2, IceFrog, and Valve's management. According to these rumors, the game designer left the studio following this conflict.

The well-known streamer disclosed this information during a Twitch broadcast.

"What's up with IceFrog? It's all rumors. There's no official information. I heard there was some internal conflict. He didn't agree with the top management. That's it"

Nix emphasized that there's no official information about this matter yet, and it remains at the level of rumors. According to him, IceFrog might have left the studio after the patch with the neutral items, which could have sparked the conflict.

"Roughly speaking, IceFrog made a patch with neutral items and went on vacation. While he was away, Valve released an update and added something of their own. This upset IceFrog. He started sorting things out, and Valve wanted to replace him. As a result, Dota died for 50 years. This was around 2019. As I understand it, IceFrog then briefly returned. Maybe it's just rumors."

It's worth noting that after winning The International 2023, Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, the carry for Team Spirit, also mentioned in an interview that IceFrog no longer works at Valve. According to him, it's completely unknown who is currently working on Dota 2.
