Mikhail “Misha” Agatov stated that the salaries of
OG Dota 2 players at different times ranged from 5 to 10 thousand euros, forming a significant part of their income.
The player spoke about this on Twitch.
“Salaries at
OG varied at different times, but were somewhere between five and ten thousand euros. That's a large part of the money.”
The player also noted that in leading esports clubs, which regularly occupy the top spots in tournaments, prize money does not constitute the majority of esports players' earnings, but rather approximately doubles their base salary. At the same time, teams receive prize money from Riyadh Masters and The International fairly quickly, but payments for playing in less prestigious events can take months.
"In top organizations, for example, when
Team Liquid takes second or third place in a major, they receive one salary or half a salary. They play
PARIVISION, take second or third place in the tournament, and they get half their salary per person. So don't think that for them it's like, “Yay! Third place, hype! We're rich!” For them, it's the absolute baseline, it's the absolute norm for how much they get from tournaments. You just double your salary if you go deep in the tournament.
Riyadh Masters pays almost instantly, The International pays very quickly, and all kinds of mediocre tournaments, all these majors — they can take years to pay. A year, six months — that's quite a long time. In general, it varies."
As a reminder, Anton “Dyrachyo” Shkredov previously spoke about his salary at
Gaimin Gladiators, calling it the highest in his career as a player.
