Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov admitted that he is considering a return to professional Dota 2 as a coach, and also stated that he has already worked with Tier 2 players in that role this year.
The player shared this in an interview with Taverna.
“Coaching is a whole different ballgame. After all, you have to be with the team constantly, analyze replays, watch them, and keep the team’s morale up. It’s hard to reflect on this topic because I haven’t been a full-time coach. There were only short periods when I tried my hand at it. But that wasn’t with Tier 1 teams.
Yes, this year. I dropped by to see some Tier 2 guys and coached them a little. But I haven’t done this full-time with Tier 1 teams—with boot camps, tournaments, and so on. So it’s hard to say how interesting this would be for me.”
Nevertheless, Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov acknowledged that this wasn’t full-fledged coaching, which is why he can only speculate at this point about how his career will unfold. Still, the player believes he would make a good coach, since he at least has a lot of information that could be useful to a team. The former esports player also thinks he could effectively maintain discipline within the team, handle drafts, and analyze replays.
“If I were to speculate, it seems like I’d make a decent coach. At the very least, I’m confident I could share a lot of knowledge, contribute a lot to the team, maintain a certain level of discipline, handle drafts, review replays, foster a positive vibe and energy, and stay in touch with the players to stay on top of the meta. So coaching is a slightly different category. But at the very least, I’m definitely thinking about it as a potential next step in my career.”
As a reminder, Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov previously reflected on whether he would return to
Team Spirit if he received an offer from the team.
