Magisk Names the Best Sniper in Counter-Strike History

Emil “Magisk” Reif considers Alexander “S1mple” Kostylev to be the best sniper in the history of the Counter-Strike pro scene in terms of his impact on the community.

The player made this statement on YouTube.

“That’s a very difficult question. I’ve had the chance to play with all three of them. And before, I would have said that Device was a very strong contender for the title of greatest. But then s1mple, I think, surpassed him.

To be honest, after the year and a half Vitality has been around, I believe Zywoo is currently ahead of everyone else. He dominated CS:GO and has won absolutely everything in CS 2 as well. I think Sasha still has something to prove in CS 2 if he wants to be considered the greatest player of all time. But right now, I’d still call Zywoo the greatest. He’s racked up a huge number of titles, MVPs, and all that.

But if we’re talking about more than just impact, there’s no doubt that Sasha is the greatest. I don’t think anyone will ever come close to him in terms of influence on the community. There were a couple of players who might have come close to that level of impact, but no one can compare to what Sasha has done. And all of that was made possible by his achievements as well.

When it comes to the debate over who’s the greatest, it’s not entirely objective. Zywoo played on the best team of all time. The same can be said about Devis. Yes, NAVI were incredibly strong—they won a Major and several other tournaments—but, in my opinion, they lacked the same level of consistency needed to help Sasha build his legacy.

If we’re talking strictly about titles and achievements, I’d still call Zywoo the greatest. But when it comes to influence on the game as a whole, it’s definitely S1mple.”

Nevertheles, in terms of contribution to his team’s development, the esports player considers Mathieu “ZywOo” Erbo to be the best due to his impressive number of victories and MVP titles. Emil “Magisk” Reif is confident that ZywOo has achieved significant success in both CS:GO and CS 2, while Alexander “S1mple” Kostylev still has room to grow in the current version of the game.
