Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov stated that players who knowingly risked breaking Valve's rules to change skins or gain additional advantages in games are responsible for their own problems.
The corresponding statement was published by the well-known Dota 2 caster and analyst on his Telegram channel.
"Although, who knows what losses skin changers can bring and how many chests won't be purchased. In any case, the judge here is one - VALVE. I have a different question and I address it to those geniuses who are now dealing with the mess.
Do you know that VALVE punishes very harshly, sometimes in a way that no one else does. You're a budding esports player or just a decent player who values their account. And you, knowing about the possible punishment, risk getting into huge trouble FOR THE SAKE OF CHANGING A HAT? Are you an idiot?"
The analyst also compared different types of cheating, concluding that each of them pursues one goal - personal gain by circumventing rules, causing losses to developers. However, Maelstorm believes that applying the same sanctions to players who change skins as to those who manipulate statistics is not entirely fair.

It is worth noting that earlier,
Team Spirit's carry, Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, stated that there is a lack of Tier-1 carries in the Dota 2 pro scene but singled out one of his strongest opponents.
