Maelstorm commented on Dyrachyo's departure, recalling a similar situation with OG's star roster

In the eyes of Vladimir “Maelstorm” Kuzminov, there is nothing too out of the ordinary in regard to Anton “Dyrachyo” Shkredov’s premature step away from pro Dota 2, however, it can be considered shocking. It, of course, depends on personal point of view. The renowned OG roster has faced this phenomenon previously as well.

The Dota 2 commentator expressed his perspective on this topic through his Telegram channel:

"I suppose something should be said about Dyrachyo's situation.

Not many people are capable of making such decisions. Not everyone has the luxury of 'being themselves and making money.' Some have to keep playing or doing something else. Even when their name still holds value, players sometimes stay in pro Dota for years—out of habit or simply because there's nothing else to do. It's hard to say.

We're seeing a kind of chaos in the Dota scene, just when things seemed to be stabilizing. I can't recall young players leaving at such a peak. Has this even happened before? Many questions, few answers. On the other hand, is it really that new? Weren't OG 2018-2019 similar?

In any case, it's a bit sad, but everything happens for the best. We keep watching Dota and supporting those still fighting"

Maelstorm mentioned that there are not many pro Dota 2 players who would be in a position to make such a call as Dyrachyo. He said that he did not have a clear rationale as to why such a promising player would step off the stage for the height of his career. At the same time, he brought attention to the fact that this is not news, as OG star-studded roster faced the same situation where they exited the pro scene at the height of their success called for players to step off the stage.

In a prior statement, Dyrachyo mentioned in the clearest terms possible that he was kidding, and that this is not a retirement announcement, but he does plan on taking some time off from pro play.
