Yohan “n0tail” Sundstein, who won two Dota 2 championships, surprisingly defended Valve in response to critics from fans.
The speech was made when he was interviewed by BLAST.TV.
"Maintaining an intense focus on a single project for a decade is difficult, even for large companies. This explains why Dota might not always receive the level of attention some fans desire from Valve"
Valve has not stopped caring about Dota 2; however, it is difficult to sustain interest in a game for years, so developers have adopted a special approach. The methods of the company let them hold on to an interest towards their product and care about players’ interests for a long period.
“Valve prioritises stability and long-term vision over rapid changes, which some may see as neglect. While not perfect, their focus on financial stability and pro-player experience creates a generally positive situation for Dota 2 esports”
This came as a reaction to fan criticism that said that Valve ignores Dota 2 and the game often gets stuck due to very long breaks without any updates.
Recall that earlier an ex-employee of Valve once gave away secrets concerning its strange manner of making patches for Dota 2.
