In quickening the release of Dota 2 patches, Zoid Kirsch a former employee of Valve exposes that developers themselves tested them daily allowing for incredibly fast updates.

He disclosed this on Twitter where he gave people insight into the inner workings at Valve.

“In the Dota 2 development team, when the build was ready every day at about three p.m. an engineer would blow horn to signal everyone to start and play one match with each other. Everyday. This was meant to test out latest changes which sped up development”

According to him, testing took place literally each day at a set time. Because of such dedication, patches were released within days. It is unclear whether this active approach continues as Kirsch left Valve in 2018.

It should be remembered that Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov advised against playing on the new Dota 2 patch in haste citing an unexpected reason.
