Dmitry "Korb3n" Belov, the manager of
Team Spirit, believes that Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko would have been a more suitable replacement for Anton "Dyrachyo" Shkredov in
Gaimin Gladiators. He thinks this would have been a more logical choice than signing Alimzhan "Watson" Islambekov.
He wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
"I was wondering, why didn't GG pick up Pure? I'm not saying Watson is worse. I'm saying that from a 'paper esports' perspective, after TI 2024, Pure is a more successful player with a wider hero pool and a stronger voice (in terms of game impact)"
According to him, after The International 2024, Pure would have seemed like a more acceptable option for GG. Korb3n noted that Pure has a wider hero pool and a deeper understanding of Dota 2, but clarified that he's not saying Pure is better than Watson.
However, it's possible that Pure is tied by a contract with
BetBoom Team, and
Gaimin Gladiators couldn't buy him out even if they had considered the option.
It's worth noting that earlier, Yatoro confirmed his grand plans with Mira after leaving
Team Spirit.
