Quinn “Quinn” Callahan believes that Dota 2 differs from other games in its high level of complexity, which is why no one can ever master it to absolute perfection.
The player’s statement was published on Offstage.
“I think what makes Dota 2 special is that it’s an incredibly complex game. No one has ever played it perfectly yet, and that’s really cool. You’ll never be able to perfect your game. I think that’s exactly what keeps people coming back again and again—because there’s always the feeling that you can get better. A friend of mine had a key to the Dota 2 beta. I’d never heard of the game before and didn’t even know what a MOBA was. He gave me the key, and I thought, “Well, why not give it a try?” I remember that in my very first game, I didn’t even know how to move the camera. I sat by the fountain for about five minutes, trying to figure out the controls.”
According to Quinn “Quinn” Callahan, no one in the history of esports has ever managed to perfect their game, which motivates players to return to it again and again in an effort to improve their gameplay. The player admitted that his first experience with Dota 2 was quite challenging.
As a reminder, Quinn “Quinn” Callahan previously explained why players in the U.S. have lost interest in Dota 2.
