Insania commented on the prospect of ending his career

Aiden “Insania” Sarkoi stated that every year he thinks about the possible end of his career because of his age, however, after winning The International 2024, the cyber athlete can rest easy because he was able to fulfill his main career goal.

The pro-player shared his respective opinion on Cap Casts' YouTube channel.

“I'm pretty old now and I've been thinking about retiring. Every year I think about it. With winning TI, it's great to realize that I can finally walk away having accomplished the goal I set for myself. That's the most important thing for me.”

The cyber athlete also said that he would be satisfied with his career even if he left without a TI win, as he is proud of the work he has done and also doesn't feel that winning another tournament in the series would change anything.

“I'd be happy with my career even without winning TI, I've done a good job - playing Dota was the right decision. But now it's like a mountain has fallen off my shoulders, I've done it. I don't feel like I need to win another TI or become the greatest player of all time. For me, it just feels good inside myself to know that if I have to leave one day, I was able to accomplish all my goals.”

However, Aiden “Insania” Sarkoi added that he will continue his career next season as he feels motivated to play Dota 2. Reflecting on possible activities after retiring from professional cybersports, the pro player stated that he wouldn't have made enough money if he hadn't played Dota 2, but his career hasn't given him the opportunity to learn other valuable skills for employment outside of cybersports.

“Next season I will play, I still have the desire. The bitter truth for us is that none of us would have made the money that we made doing something else. At least that's true of the players. You spent all your time in your early 20s and gained 0 useful life skills that you could add to your resume and write, 'I've been doing this for the last 10 years and this is why you should hire me'.”

Recall that Team Liquid roster coach William “Blitz” Lee had earlier hinted at major roster changes despite the team's victory at The International 2024.
