Bogdan “Iceberg” Vasilenko stated that Dota 2's popularity is rapidly declining, which is why players often switch to CS2, something he himself is considering.
This statement was made during a stream on Twitch.
"Everyone is already tired of Dota. No one is playing the game anymore. I need to become a caster. Will you watch if I'm on Faceit and reach level 10? But first, I need to learn all the positions, ha ha ha. I don't know, I feel like I perform better in CS. But I'll get angry there, you'll start laughing at me, and that will annoy me even more"
Iceberg noted that Dota 2 is no longer as popular as it used to be, and many players are switching to another Valve project — CS2. According to him, he could also change his esports discipline and believes that he might even play better there.
However, Iceberg's words are refuted by the project's statistics. The fact is that in August, 111,000 more people are playing Dota 2 than last month. Such indicators show that fans are interested in the game's continued existence.
Recall that earlier, Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov commented on SaberLight's proposal for The International 2025.
