The discussion started on Reddit, where users shared a screenshot of the post from X (formerly Twitter). Many thought that in this way TeaGuvnor hinted at something big related to The International 2025.
"WTF?!?!?! I just smelled something for the first time in 2 years!!!!!!!!! I hope it is actually returning and not a one off, it was a very faint smell but it's more than 0 so it gives me hope. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
Fans speculated that it could be about restoring the “smell” of Dota 2, i.e. the return of Battle Pass - for the first time in two years. However, others took the post literally, recalling that TeaGuvnor lost his sense of smell after COVID-19 and it's probably about his return.
This version is indirectly confirmed by his next post, where he answered the question about what exactly he smelled: the smell of dog treats with bacon, orange juice and coffee.
Recall that earlier Valve officially announced the prize pool of The International 2025.
