Former
Virtus.pro captain Artem “fng” Barshak said that he has no plans to return to the professional Dota 2 scene. According to him, he never managed to win a major tournament, and after the break it will be even harder to do it.
He shared his thoughts during a stream on Twitch, answering questions from viewers:
"It's been nine months, give or take, that I haven't played competitively. Sometimes you look at it and realize that Dota hasn't changed so much that I'm playing much worse than before. But still, I haven't won any super big tourney. And to say, “Here, I want to come back and play at the same level” - it's not interesting to anyone. If you come back, you have to sweat even more than you sweated before, right, to take the tourneys?"
According to him, he doesn't really miss
Virtus.pro, so he has no desire to return. Even though the game hasn't changed drastically since he left, he believes that coming back will require a lot of effort. That's what stops him - even in the best of times he failed to achieve major victories, and now the task will become even more difficult.
Earlier BLAST Slam radically changed the rules of Dota 2 tournaments.
