Artem "fng" Barshak stated that
Virtus.pro had played few games against strong teams recently. The esports athlete believes that formidable lineups have gathered for BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 and anticipates a challenging first match against
Aurora.
This statement was made by the captain and support player of the esports organization in an official YouTube channel release by
Virtus.pro.
"I can't say that we gained much from the last qualifiers. We only played once against a strong team –
Team Spirit. Not to take away anything from
Klim Sani4 – they did well beating us, but that series didn't give us much overall.
Team Spirit showed heavier issues we need to work on.
The first opponents are
Aurora Gaming. I've watched them minimally already. The team stylistically resembles old
Talon Esports, although one player has changed. The match will definitely not be easy or straightforward.
As for the group... Again, it's a 12-team tournament, and each team is strong in its own way. There are many tier-1 teams, so saying our group is worse or could have been better doesn't make much sense. We still need to win almost all matches to advance."
During the January qualifiers,
Virtus.pro secured slots in two championships - BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 and DreamLeague Season 22. They were eliminated from the ESL One Birmingham 2024 qualifiers by
Team Spirit and
Klim Sani4. In the regional DreamLeague Season 22 qualifiers,
Virtus.pro shared three slots with the two previously mentioned teams. The closed tournament for a spot in BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 was the most successful for the team, as
Virtus.pro won all upper bracket matches and claimed the slot from
L1ga Team in the grand final.
It's worth noting that Lee "Forev" Sang-don had previously announced his departure from the coaching position at
IHC Esports.
