ESL has released reforms regarding the allocation of the prize pool for the Dota 2 championships. Starting from the DreamLeague Season 25, teams will receive 25% of the overall prize pot in cash.

This was published on the official page of the tournament operator's site.

Moving forward, all ESL tournaments scheduled for the this year will have the total prize pool of 1,000,000 USD with $ 250,000 being paid out directly to the organizations on top of that. Also, the company has made adjustments to the prize pool allocation to different participants of the championship.

This is how the remuneration for DreamLeague S25 will be given out:

  • First — $250,000 and also to the squad, $40,000

  • Second — $100,000 and also to the squad, $30,000

  • Third — $80,000 and also to the squad, $25,000

  • Fourth — $60,000 and also to the squad, $20,000

  • Fifth — $40,000 and also to the squad, $15,000

  • Sixth — $35,000 and also to the squad, $15,000

  • Seventh — $30,000 and also to the squad, $12,500

  • Eighth - $25,000 and also to the squad, $12,500

  • Ninth — Tenth place: $20,000 each and also to the squad, $10,000

  • Eleventh — Tenth place: $17,500 each and also to the squad, $10,000

  • Thirteenth — Fourteenth place: $15,000 each and also to the squad, $10,000

  • Fifteen — Sixteenth place: $10,000 each and also to the squad, $10,000

Their intent is to provide better support to organizations as well as make the prize allocation more fair. Until now, players have not said anything about this modification, and it is still unclear how this decision will change the Dota 2 competitive enviroment.
