The Dota 2 Crownfall update has angered fans: what happened

The Dota 2 Fallen Crown update has sparked negative emotions among many fans due to lack of gameplay changes and the inclusion of Ring Master, a new hero. The bulk of the enhancements were cosmetic.

Users are expressing their emotions on Reddit and other social media platforms.

In their comments, players lament that developers disregarded community’s opinion. Many esports professionals as well as casual players expected gameplay alterations which had been absent for nearly three months.

It was also pointed out by others eagerly expecting Ring Master release though even after the announcement at The International 2023 the character hasn`t been introduced into the game yet. Also, in his Telegram channel commentator Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov expressed disappointment.

• Narrative quests with rewards

Ring Master – no; balance changes – no. You can go to sleep”

He noted that instead of promised gameplay changes and a new hero, it took just six months to get some few cosmetic retouches including an arcana set only.

Valve launched Crownfall update reminding that it would run a special narrative event within several months.
