Valve has launched the Crownfall festive event in Dota 2: all the details

Valve has released the Crownfall update and launched a holiday event dedicated to the story of Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit. This is just the first chapter of an adventure that will last for several months.

A separate section dedicated to the storyline event has appeared on the official Dota 2 website.

The illustrations depict the story of how the lovers Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit reunite and try to prevent a threat to their kingdom. However, the conclusion of the Crownfall comic remains open and will depend on the outcome of the event.

Crownfall Storyline Event

Dota 2 has launched the first part of an adventure called CrownFall, where players venture into an interactive map to complete various mini-games and quests. Successful completion of tasks will reward players with tokens.

The event offers three types of rewards, including Arcana items, treasure chests, and other prizes. The event is divided into four parts, but only the first part is available at the start, with the second part planned for release in May.

Among the rewards are new Arcanas for Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit, matching their appearances from the comic. The number of tasks in the event is currently unknown, but the official website showcases an interactive map with many possibilities, including fishing.

Details of the "Crossroads Market" Event

In Dota 2, a vast interactive map has been introduced, allowing players to navigate predefined routes. During the "Crossroads Market" event, players earn tokens based on their selected hero.

These tokens can be used for map navigation, interacting with various characters, and earning rewards. The map also features unique locations like the token trader's tent and a candy caravan.

Crownfall event walkthrough

On the main screen of Dota 2, there is a button that opens the first act of the Crownfall story. Click it to enter the world map, where you will see all the available paths for the main and side quests of Crownfall.

To prevent multiple accounts with similar token requirements from queuing at the same time, the paths on the world map are randomized for each player. On this screen, you will find all the information you need to start progressing through the quests. To begin playing, find out which token is needed for the first task. For example, the "Running" token is required to receive the initial rewards.

How to obtain Crownfall tokens

Tokens can be obtained by playing the heroes required in each category. While every hero can provide multiple tokens for different categories, some heroes double the amount of tokens for a single category.

Each hero has a set of three tokens. If you win a match with that hero, you will receive one token of each category. If you lose, you will receive one token randomly from the three. Turbo matches grant two tokens for a win and none for a loss.

The earned tokens will remain in your inventory for the act until you use them to unlock later paths or events.

Rewards for completing Crownfall

Access to the main Crownfall quest is free for everyone and includes lore dialogues and five different types of rewards:

• Coins: You can receive 15 coins for free. When you collect 10 of them, you can get a discount on purchases in the Crownfall store. The discount amount may vary by region and is around $8 USD.

• Candy sacks: You can receive 21 candy sacks for free. Progress on the world map will unlock the Candyworks caravan, where you can earn candies and exchange them for random sets.

• Treasures: You can receive 2 treasures for free, each containing different sets.

• Gifts: You can receive 14 gifts for free, including random emoticons and voice lines, as well as MMR double-down tokens and other items.

• Style unlocks: You can receive 1 style unlock for free, which will change the appearance of the final reward for completing the main Crownfall quest.

The world map includes two side quests that are locked for free players. The Midgate Pathfinder pack to unlock these quests includes additional rewards such as coins, candy sacks, treasures, MMR double-down tokens, and other items.

Explorer's Journey Set

The event is free for all players, but there's an option to purchase a special booster for $15. This booster unlocks additional quests and new map sections, offering extra chests, couriers, creeps, immortals, event coins, and more.

The event is divided into four parts, with the second act, "Druid Desert," starting in mid-May. Release dates for the third and fourth acts, "Icefreeze Wastes" and "Skyras Spires," have not been announced yet, and starting a new act won't close the opportunity to complete previous ones.
