Valve released the global update Crownfall, which many thought was Patch 7.36, but in reality, the update was more cosmetic in nature. Gameplay was not affected, and the focus was on participating in the thematic event and obtaining new Arcana.
Key Changes in Dota 2 Fallen Crown
Surprisingly, the global update did not bring any changes to gameplay, much to the surprise of many players. The event is more thematic, focusing on the storyline of Dota 2 and aimed at obtaining cosmetic items. There were no adjustments to the balance, indicators, or statistics of items and heroes noticed.

Fallen Crown Holiday Event
After the Dragon's Gift event, players can now participate in a new themed event, offering the opportunity to enhance their collection with new cosmetic items. These include arcanas, chat wheel phrases, emotes, and other decorations to add variety to Dota 2 matches. Additionally, a new treasure has been introduced, offering unique and rare rewards exclusively available when opening the corresponding chest.
New Dota 2 Hero - Ring Master
In Dota 2, a new hero, Ring Master, has yet to appear, despite being expected to refresh the roster for the first time since 2023. Prior to that, Valve introduced
Muerta, which significantly altered hero picks in matchmaking and the Dota 2 pro scene in March of last year. Ring Master is focused on controlling opponents, not just creeps but even enemy heroes, which could drastically change the dynamics of offlane and hardlane play.
The Crownfall update marks the first global patch for Dota 2 in 2024, significantly impacting gameplay. Following these changes, both the pro scene and matchmaking in the game will undergo substantial alterations, potentially shifting the favorites for upcoming Dota 2 tournaments.
