Dota 2 New Update The Dragon's Gift: Festive Event Begins

Valve has released an update for Dota 2 called "Dragon's Gift," dedicated to the celebration of the Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year). One of the main features is a treasure trove with valuable cosmetic items, as well as a festive event that will last until March 7.

The corresponding announcement was published on the official Dota 2 website.

"We are actively working on the upcoming update called 'Fallen Crown,' and we can't wait to show you the results of our work. We looked at the calendar and noticed that it has been several weeks since the Frostivus update, so we decided not to delay the presentation of new content until the release of 'Fallen Crown.' Fortunately, the calendar gods came up with another holiday just in time — congratulations on the Lunar New Year!"

One of the main features of the event is the Red Gift Envelopes, which are somewhat analogous to chests, but only the recipient can open them. Everyone else can purchase the Dragon's Hoard treasure. Inside, there may be one of 17 unique cosmetic items of different rarities or a festive envelope with an unusual effect.

Also, a unique item called "The Ancient Dragon King" has been added, which may drop from the treasure trove with a certain probability. This is an ornament for the Ancient, which will differ for the Radiant and Dire sides.

Valve has also updated its anti-cheat system, so a new wave of bans for rule violations may be expected soon.

• Fixed various bugs preventing in-game guides from loading (if you enabled in-game downloads to fix this issue, you can now turn off this option in Steam).

• Fixed another bug causing Roshan to go for a walk — when Night Stalker activated Dark Ascension while Roshan was using the Pairing Portal.

• Fixed an issue where your team's captured outposts could be attempted to be captured again.

• Fixed an issue where the neutral item selection panel disappeared when releasing the key in some quick cast modes.

• Fixed an issue where Doubloon provided only 2, not 2.5, mana regeneration per second.

• Fixed a bug where the magic resistance from Eternal Shroud worked on illusions.

• Fixed the interaction of Eternal Shroud with Medusa's Mana Shield ability.

• Now, the tooltip for the Safety Bubble spell mentions that the barrier allows self-inflicted damage to pass through.

• Fixed an issue with Shiva's Guard effects.

• Fixed an issue where in Turbo mode, when Chen used the Holy Persuasion ability, the gold multiplier for creeps was not taken into account.

• Fixed an issue where Legion Commander's Overwhelming Odds ability with Aghanim's Shard still had bonuses to armor and duration.

• Fixed an issue where Marci's Unleash ability would trigger when receiving and losing Bloodstone.

• Fixed an issue where the effects of Gunslinger on Muerta could be dispelled.

• Fixed an issue where Ogre Magi's Multicast ability could not be upgraded with a hotkey.

• Fixed an issue where inactive Phantom Lancer illusions could block neutral creep camps.

• The cause of the server crash, which occasionally occurred due to the Uproar ability of Primal Beast, has been eliminated.

• Fixed an issue where Phantom Lancer's Voice Lines and Portrait did not work correctly in Chinese.

• Fixed an issue where the camera could be locked in place if you switched to a player perspective while using the Teleportation ability.

• Fixed an issue where the teleportation animation for some heroes did not play in the dashboard.

• Fixed a bug where HUD Chat and Event pop-ups were displayed incorrectly if the game resolution did not match the native resolution.

• Fixed a bug where the Compass of the Rising Gale item did not correctly display the icons for the Gale Force ability for Windranger.

• Fixed an issue where the players' text chat appeared under the unit query box when the panel was open.

• Improved performance when displaying a large number of messages from global channels.

• Fixed various problems with tooltips.

• The tooltip text during pauses is now accurate for patch 7.35b updates.
