A direct hint of a new cooperative PvE mode has been found in Dota 2

Dota 2 may feature a new cooperative mode focused on PvE in the style of dungeons, where the main enemies should be skeletons and shadows.

A direct hint to this was found by Reddit users, who analyzed a number of phrases of the hero Quarters Curios.

“Behind every door, skeletons were waiting for us. Behind every secret passage, skeletons were waiting for us. Inside every chest, skeletons were waiting for us.

It is clear that there should be at least SOME skeletons in the dungeon, but their density per square meter was ridiculously high. And then half of the squad disappeared into the unknown darkness.

According to the words of the character from the Quarters Curios, the new PvE mode will be designed in the style of a dungeon, where players will be attacked by entire hordes of skeletons. There are also hints that for each reward you will have to fight a huge number of enemies.

In addition, Quertero separately notes that at the end of the dungeon, a full-fledged boss will await the party of players, which resembles monsters from the Lovecraft myths. Some also saw in his other phrases a hint that cowardice or escape in the new mode can lead to punishments - for example, fines on loot or other types of punishment.

Many hope that the new mode will be released along with the Compendium on August 21, but others are less optimistic. The fact is that the Quarters Curios will last until November 5, and it is possible that this is when we can expect a new PvE mode.
