Alexey “Lex” Filippov, a Dota 2 commentator, is sure that Compendium 2025 will be out on August 21, but it'll be a letdown for players because it won't be any different from the previous editions.
He talked about this on his Telegram channel.
“A few predictions: first, it will be a small book with announcements from commentators and participating teams, a couple of jokes like statues, a fantasy league, and the opportunity to get a physical Aegis. That's it! Just like in the past couple of years. The prize pool will be good if it reaches $2.5 million”
Lex noted that no innovations in terms of content should be expected from Compendium 2025. According to him, as usual, there will be some cosmetics, a fantasy league, predictions of TI14 match results, and other tasks that were there last year.
“Secondly, the compendium will apparently be released two weeks before The International for the third year in a row. It has been released on Thursdays for the last two years, so I'm betting that this year's release date will be August 21. And, as I wrote above, we shouldn't expect any super content. It will just be an announcement of the main tournament of the year — that's all”
The commentator noted that Valve will most likely release another Battle Pass two weeks before the Dota 2 World Championship. According to him, this already happened last year, but because of this, the situation with the TI14 prize pool may be even worse.
We remind you that earlier, Miroslav “Mira” Kolpakov addressed fans in a depressed state.
