The new shooter from Valve called Deadlock has already appeared online, even though the developers have not officially announced the game yet. Initially, the Alpha version became available for download due to one of the testers, and now the game has an official Steam page.

How to Play Deadlock game Valve on Steam

While most players could previously only access unofficial versions of Deadlock, that has now changed. Everyone interested can now play Deadlock from Valve, as the developers have simplified access to the game. All you need is an invite from a friend who already has a key.

To start playing Deadlock from Valve, follow these steps:

  1. Open Steam and go to the "Account" section in the upper right corner to copy your Steam ID, which consists of a series of digits.

  2. Use any search engine to find the Deadlock community on social networks, forums, or Telegram.

  3. In these communities, look for threads where testers are giving away Deadlock keys for free.

  4. Leave your Steam ID in the relevant thread, and soon one of the testers will add you as a friend on Steam.

  5. Once you accept the friend request and the Deadlock invite, you will receive a notification about being invited to test the game.

  6. Deadlock will then appear in your Steam library, where you can install it and start playing.

Unofficial version of Deadlock

Evidently, one of Deadlock’s alpha testers managed to leak an earlier version of one of Valve’s newest games online. Mind you, this particular build weighs 23 gigs and is fully functional. However, the official servers are not open for it as yet; yet, you can have a go at it in tutorial mode. Still, it has been reported that one can even play multiplayer with friends using additional programs like Hamachi.

Seemingly, Valve will soon issue DMCA take down notices against all copies found online since the game is currently in Alpha testing stage. Henceforth, Deadlock was made available to everyone after one tester did not follow rules and regulations leading to possible consequences and removal requests from all hosts and sites having the game builds.

How to Play Deadlock?

It's important to note that Deadlock is in its alpha version, so some game modes are unavailable and require additional steps to access them.

To launch the Sandbox mode in Deadlock:

  1. Download Deadlock: Find an available version of Deadlock on the internet using a regular search query.

  2. Install the game: Install the early version of the game by following the instructions in the launcher. Keep in mind that the game has not been officially announced, so bugs and errors are possible.

  3. Launch Deadlock: After installation, start the game, but don't begin a match right away, as the game will give an error due to the lack of official servers.

  4. Select the mode: Choose the Sandbox mode. This mode is intended for practice and is a full match, similar to training in CS2.

  5. Using Sandbox mode: After launching Sandbox, you can try out all the available heroes and their abilities, as well as engage in shootouts with creeps.

Number of Players in Deadlock

Deadlock was only recently announced but has already set a new record for player numbers. Recently, the number of players who have tried the shooter surpassed 44,000, surpassing some of the trending games of the year, even though Deadlock is still in the alpha testing stage.

This information comes from the SteamDB portal.

According to the site's statistics, the number of players is gradually increasing, which may indicate that Valve has expanded the number of testers exploring the alpha version of the game. Given Deadlock's technical state, it can be assumed that the developers will soon officially announce the game or even announce an open beta test in the near future.

Major Patch for Deadlock

Although the game is still in closed testing, the updates are truly impressive.

A new anti-cheat system has been introduced that transforms cheaters into frogs for the remainder of the match. Players will be unable to do anything and will remain in this form until the battle concludes. Additionally, several significant changes have been made to the maps, adding more dynamism to the matches.

Moreover, a key new feature is the introduction of Mirage, a new hero that expands the already impressive roster of characters.

It should be noted that before any announcement by Valve on its new game “Deadlocks” there had been video gameplay trailers and screenshots coming out.
