A bug involving Techies and Largo has been discovered in Dota 2

Team Spirit analyst Mark “sikle” Lerman discovered an unusual bug in Dota 2 involving Largo and the Swine of the Sunken Galley arcana on Techies.

He discussed this quirk on his personal Telegram channel.

According to sikle, the arcana—released in September 2014—applies a hidden modifier, `modifier_techies_arcana_damage_listener`, to Techies. This modifier triggers the taunt effect when damage is dealt by abilities and is active on the hero from the very start of the match.

The issue arose after Largo was added in 2025. The frog’s ability allows him to absorb both positive and negative effects, thereby gaining additional health regeneration. Since Techies’ hidden modifier is treated as a regular buff and has no dispel resistance, Largo can copy it and gain free health regeneration by licking three miners. However, the bug only triggers once after each time Techies is resurrected: the modifier disappears after being absorbed.
