The organizers of EWC 2026 have announced the details of the CS2 championship, which will be held as part of the event, with a prize pool of $2.1 million, which is a record.
The official announcement was published on the EWC page on Facebook.
This year, 32 teams will compete at the tournament, which is twice as many as last year. The prize pool has almost doubled: in 2025 teams competed for $1.25 million, while in 2026 the prizes will amount to $2 million and another $100 thousand will be played in LAN qualifiers.
Thanks to the financial bonus for participating in the qualifiers the 2026 prize pool became the biggest in the history of the discipline. The last time a $2 million prize pool was played was at PGL Major Stockholm 2021, where the prize money was increased due to the cancellation of previous Majors.
Earlier it was reported that FACEIT banned thousands of CS2 accounts for breaking the rules.
