Afoninje recalled how he first got into Dota 2

Andrey “Afoninje” Afonin said that he played Counter-Strike at a fairly high level, but one day he got tired of the constant shootouts, after which a friend suggested he try Dota 2.

The streamer talked about this on Twitch.

"My dream... well, not exactly a dream — I just played for fun. Like how you play CS or Dota, for example. I also enjoyed CS, played in mixes with pros against all the top players — and, honestly, I played very confidently.

But as it happens in the summer: no school, nothing much to do, and playing only CS gets boring. And then one person says to me, ‘Let's go to Dota’. And I had already played a little Dota before — with bots. I replied, ‘Well, let's go, let's play’.

According to Andrey “Afoninje” Afonin, from the very first minutes in Dota 2, he began to feel quite confident, easily defeating his opponents. Although the MOBA gameplay seemed too simple to the streamer at first, he later decided to continue playing because he realized that, unlike CS, he could win quite easily in Dota 2. This brought the streamer pleasure.

"I went in and started winning so confidently that I was surprised myself. I said, ‘Why did you call me if I'm not even interested — it's too easy.’ And from that moment on, I thought: why continue playing CS if I'm winning everyone in Dota?

So I started playing Dota. I had fake accounts on Esportal — I created a new one and calmly played with a score of 30-0, 40-0, 50-0. I really enjoyed it."

As a reminder, Andrey “Afoninje” Afonin previously named the highest salary of his career as a professional Dota 2 player.
