Ilya 'Yatoro' Mulyarchuk, previously a carry for Team Spirit, finds himself unable to play Dota 2 for long periods of time, explaining to Valve that the reason for this is the time it takes for him to find a match. In his case, it can take over an hour and a half, prompting him to ask for permission to smurf account on Dota 2.

He asked Valve in this post he shared on his Telegram.

“valve can i do smurf please i can't find dota game (1.5h q) ???”

The player discloses that the reason it takes so long for him to matchmakess is due to the account being highly ranked. According to him It took him and his teammates more than an hour to find a match. Players with even lower ranks find higher wait times an issue as well, which leaves professional gamers to suffer even more.

On the contrary, smurfing is not allowed at the moment, and Valve is not actively changing the rules either. Before this there was a period of time in which a large group of notable Dota 2 players with professional backgrounds got banned for smurf playing.

Still, Yatoro does have a chance to get past that ban as there was a point when Yatoro asked Valve to assist in changing his Dota 2 nickname in which case a service was reactivated that had been deactivated for a long period.
